How to go to Ginger Island
To go to the Ginger island, you will be able to go after we have finished repairing Willy’s ship. It costs 1,000g per trip, more expensive than going to the desert! The process of unlocking the ship takes place after friends complete the Community Center or complete Joja’s bundle. There will be an invitation from Willy to go to the back of his shop two days later.
At the back of the shop, there will be a boat. He can take us to Ginger Island, but the ship is too worn out. You must repair it first by using the following items;
- Hardwood x200
- Iridium Bar x5
- Battery Pack x5
Once the items are delivered, there will be a ship repair cutscene that night (unless there are other cutscenes inserted, we will have to wait for the next day) and after that we will be able to board the ship by purchasing a ticket, just like going to the desert. But it’s better that you don’t have to wait for Willy to be at the store. Just go to the back of the shop.

The Ginger Island has many distinctive features. The area of the island is divided into zones. As wide as little Pelican Town, it can even be said there is a whole farm area to use. Areas for Farming, Fishing, Foraging, Dungeons, and most importantly, the seasons. because the island has no season, you can plant anything without winter season (Even the weather is separate from the Town.) The fish that can be caught will only depend on the time of day and location. It can be called moving from a villager to an islander! It’s just that you can’t do the best because you can’t build any Barns or Coops.
The area on the island is divided into 4 parts together and has various secrets. Lots of searches, mainly to find the Golden Walnut, the unique currency on the island. Because on the island, there will be parrots at various points requesting this Golden Walnut is a fixed number. When given, it will repair (yes, parrots on this island are awesome) that location or unlock something new for you to play with. Of course, including the ultimate End Game Content like Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room as well, until unlocking, you have to find almost every Golden Walnut!
► Ginger Island : South of the island (below)
The south of the island will be where friends starting when arriving to this island, there will be a port, a beach, the Teleport Waypoint for using Warp Totem: Island or the Island Obelisk and the ruined buildings. At first, there will be a giant turtle blocking the way.
- The northern turtle disappears when you follow Leo (island boy) who escapes you to the right hand side of the island. Talking to him in the hut will unlock the northern region. When we return to the beach, Magma Sprite will lead us north to the volcano dungeon.
- Western turtle It disappears when you pay 10 Golden Walnuts to it, but the parrot only appears if you give the Golden Walnut to the parrot in Leo’s hut.
○ Beach Resort
Ruins can be restored to a Resort once the Farmhouse on the island has been repaired. After that, a parrot will appear waiting to be repaired for 20 Golden Walnuts. Once repaired, the resort will open again. And there will be random townspeople from Pelican town to visit here periodically from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, making NPC’s travel schedule able to mess up again (LoL). We can press to open / close the Resort by pressing On the button between the two houses of the dressing room too.

► Southeast area (right side of the beach)
For this zone, you can go only after repairing the Beach Resort, which will make the trash that gets in the way disappear. This area has a star-shaped pond, a mound of boulders, and the Pirate’s Cave.
○ Pirate’s Cave
You can enter the Pirate’s Cave by going through a secret passage to the right of this zone of the beach. you can come anytime but if you come by on a day when it’s not raining, on even-numbered days of the season, you’ll meet pirates as well. They will be able to talk to play darts for Golden Walnuts (only 3). If you wear Pirate Hats (or Deluxe Pirate Hats) and the Eye Patch will also receive a free Mead at the bar too.
In the water, there’s a Stingray to catch, which is likely to be the hardest fish to catch in this patch, including in the far right corner where there’s a crate. You can also mine to obtain the Gourmand Statue too.
○ Mermaid
On a rainy day, you’ll find a mermaid at the bottom of the Pirate’s Cave, along with a strange pile of stones that just appeared It will be a puzzle for you to solve.
By this puzzle, if you place the flute block on 5 small stones, arranged and tuned correctly. You can also be rewarded with 5 Golden Walnuts. As for how to place it, you must place above or below those small stones, press to adjust the sound correctly. (plays the mermaid’s song) then walks from left to right. If correct, you will receive a reward.
Tuning hints are big rock = 5 clicks, small rock = 1 click, then add them together.

► Ginger Island : East (Right)
It is a forested area and there’s Leo’s hut here with a talking parrot. The parrot will help give hints of Golden Walnut to you. There will also be a banana altar that you can guess what to use with it (LoL) and there is a secret passage that leads to an inner altar with 4 altars. For solving this puzzle is a bit complicated.
○ Gem-bird Altar Puzzle
On the rainy day on the island, the 4 directions of the island, North-South-East-West. There will be a random direction where there will be birds. When you meet a bird and walk closer, It will fly away and drop gems down to bring that gem to place on the altar of that direction (such as north = top) when completing all 4 directions, you will receive 5 Golden Walnut as reward.
- The weather on the island is not the same as on the farm, so be careful.
- Rain Totem can be used on islands.
- Birds always appear even after the puzzle is solved.
- There are 5 types of gems: Aquamarine, Topaz, Amethyst, Emerald and Ruby. You can try them on in advance, but the chances to complete the puzzle is also get you hotheaded.
- Birds can respawn in the same direction.
► Ginger Island : North (above)
In the northern zone, there will be many things together. And it’s the zone that almost everyone use the most, because it has a dungeon there!
○ Island Trader
It is a bird that will come and exchange things with us. There are many things on this island that are worth the money. To unlocking it, The Island Farmhouse must be unlocked first, followed by the Trader for 10 Golden Walnuts.
The items for sale will have many things from fixed items that are definitely sold every day and the random items include. However, this bird does not use g money to buy items, instead uses items that can be found on the island such as Ginger, Taro Root, Bone Fragment, Coconut, Cinder Shard and many more that can be obtained here too.
○ Dig site
Areas that look like the Quarry of the town, it will have a random Bone Node, Clay Node, and Stone or Ore every day. It can be used to find more items, you can enter here by having the parrot fix the bridge for 10 Golden Walnuts.
To the right, there is a staircase with large stones covering the mouth of the cave with a request for help. you need to use Bombs on the rocks to help Professor Snail get out and activate the Island Field Office. Inside the cave, mushrooms will spawn. randomly periodically every day.
○ Island Field Office
After rescuing Professor Snail, this place will be fully activated. In here, it will be like a Museum, allows you to bring the skeletons that found on this island to donate to Prof. Once assembled, you will receive the following rewards:
- Large Animal Collection : 6 Golden Walnuts, 1 Banana Sapling
- Snake Collection : 3 Golden Walnuts, 1 Mango Sapling
- Mumified Frog : 1 Golden Walnut
- Mimufied Bat : 1 Golden Walnut
- Purple Flower Island Survey : 1 Golden Walnut (22 flowers)
- Purple Starfish Island Survey : 1 Golden Walnut (18 birds)
- Complete the above : Ostrich Incubator Blueprint
The Island Survey can only be attempted once a day. Wrong answer does not ruin anything.
○ Volcano Dungeon
The most brutal volcano dungeon of this island. It was a dungeon area that easy to enter and hard to exit. Because it will only have to warp or walk backwards, no stairs to get back immediately. There are only 10 floors, but you’ll exhause reaching. At the top, there will be the Forge that can be used to upgrade your equipment to be luxurious by increasing stats such as Crit or Attack Power, and also Enchant too!

► Ginger Island : West (Left)
On the left side is a place where there are a lot of mainly things for you to do here. We can divide this area into the top and bottom, this area is able to live and do a farm. It also has really a lot of areas that if you really want to plant things (and don’t even need a scarecrow. Because there is a parrot here!)
○ Farmhouse
Farm Ruins can be repaired for 20 Golden Walnuts. Repairing them will give you a house with a kitchen, beds for the number of players and a Shipping Bin to sell. After that, there will be parrots to plow more of yours. It’s a mailbox for 5 Golden Walnut and a Farm Obelisk to take home for 20 Golden Walnut….. great value.
○ Gourmand Frog
Once the Farmhouse has been repaired, there will be a cave in the top right corner of the farm. It is a frog cave that reminds it of the days when vegetables were grown on the farm and asked us to help plant. If we can plant it correctly and talk to the frog, we will get 5 Golden Walnuts in return for 1 thing, which the frog will reveal is a mystery for you to guess. There are 3 things in total. Plant only one tree until it grows up and is ready to be harvested. (But don’t harvest it) Do it one tree at a time. (but can be planted in advance)

○ Birdie’s Shack
Hut of Grandma Pirate Wife who gave us the quest “The Pirate Wife”. It is for you to bring the item to the NPC for a total of 7 times. After completing it, you will receive a Fairy Dust Blueprint (powder that make any productor done immediately) and 5 Golden Walnut.

○ Whack-a-mole game
This whack-a-mole game, if you successfully beating a mole, it will earn you 1 Golden Walnut, but it’s so fast! ….. Maybe you need pretending to plug the hole or use something that can smack it from a distance? (You can also use a watering can to whack a mole!)
○ Shipwreck
The wreck at the bottom of the farm. You can go in and collect the Golden Walnut. Grandma Birdie will tell you who owns this ship.
○ Crystal Puzzle
On top of the farm where slimes spawn every day, there is a small cave. Inside the cave, there are crystals of 5 colors. It will be a memory test game (Simon Say) with a total of 5 rounds. The next round gets faster and faster. If we make a mistake, we always have to start over from the very first round. But every time you miss, the game will slow down for a bit (thank you very much! JC) If you win, you will receive 3 Golden Walnuts.
○ Qi’s Walnut Room
Mr. Qi’s secret room that can only be entered if your friends collect at least 100 Golden Walnuts (no need to keep them with you). Inside here is a vending machine that requires Qi Gems to be traded, which is nice stuff, and a Perfection Tracker and Special Order Board for you to use.

Complete them and unlock The Summit (version 1.5 ending), Status of True Perfection, Golden Egg, ??? Hat and a chance to encounter the Golden Witch event and a new bird.
Mr. Qi’s quest is the only way to get Qi Gems to exchange, which resets on Monday of every week. It is a quest that is called challenging and quite brutal. It is advisable to hurry up and do it because there is a chance of being easily missed.
► Parrot Express
While Stardew Valley doesn’t have a teleport point. Causing horses to travel. Various areas on Ginger Island have been developed with godly Parrot Express! By unlocking this service, you will have to pay 10 Golden Walnuts to the parrots at the island farm first. Once unlocked, you can use it immediately. Where you can go are Volcano, Farm, Jungle, Docks, Dig Site. (can’t go until the bridge is repaired first)
Usage is just walking up the cable car. Parrots will help each other carry you getting to your destination instantly, super convenient!
► Fish that can be caught
There are three new fish species on Ginger Island: Blue Discus, Lionfish, Stingray, with the addition of Tilapia, Pufferfish, Super Cucumber, Tuna and Octopus. Conditions for fishing other than in the island will refer to the normal time when those [ fishing] were taken from within the town.
- North: Blue Discus, Tilapia and Midnight Carp.
- South: Flounder, Lionfish, Pufferfish, Super Cucumber and Tuna.
- In the pirate cave will be Flounder, Stingray, Pufferfish, Super Cucumber and Tuna.
- In the west, it is separated into freshwater. (ponds and rivers above) with saltwater (sea).
- Freshwater contains Blue Discus, Tilapia and Midnight Carp.
- Seawater contains Flounder, Lionfish, Pufferfish, Octupus, Super Cucumber and Tuna.
Stardew Valley update 1.5 really has a lot of things for us to play. Especially the part of Ginger Island which is the true End Game area of friends. Whether it’s a new area to explore. More items to collect, many secrets, including a new dungeon like the Volcano Dungeon and a Perfection Tracker that can be used to unlock the game’s ending. If anyone has not played this version of the game before, I can tell that just coming back to play, there is something to do for a long time. Just going to the Ginger Island to guarantee that there will be exciting things to do for sure!
