The most intense storyline to follow
The story in the game takes place in the year 1800. We are wizards who have enrolled in the famous school of magic “Hogwarts”. We must travel to Hogwarts with “Professor Fig”. At that time, there was a “Goblin Rebellion” led by the evil villain “Ranrock”, which the Ministry of Magic was closely observing from the news of Professor Fig’s wife, Miriam. who left a mysterious key as a clue before her death.
But we see “Trace of Ancient Magic” during our journey, we are ambushed by Ranrock’s dragon. But managed to survive being teleported to the Gringott Bank by a mysterious key, until he met the “Ancient Locket”, which led us to a full-fledged magical adventure and solve the mysteries of the ancient magic that has slept for many years.
Even if it’s a new story, but it still full of the Harry Potter universe and encounters that we are familiar with very well. There is also a hidden Easter egg. If fans or Potterheads come to play, they will be excited to shout wow~ throughout the play for sure! But the staffs didn’t leave out newcomers who had just stepped into the wizarding world. You might be confused at first as to what this thing is, but it able to understand quickly and not that difficult. Although there are quite long dialogues in each cutscene, but the staffs has done their homework very well by both covering the story and collecting details greatly.

As for the gameplay, I must say that it came out well beyond expectations. Personally, seeing the early game preview, I was very worried about how the staffs would be able to use magic to make the battle system fun. Because there is only a magic wand waving around. But after playing it, I have to accept it because they made it out flowing and having so much fun! From basic spells to cursed spells, there are various enemy that we must use spells to deal with. There is parrying and counterattacking that where we can make combos extremely fun and satisfying. Plus, the gestures when casting spells are also cool in the style of RPG games too.
The game has a Talents system that we can get points from leveling up, which Talents will help us play more fun, because it can enhances the efficiency of using spells even more. It can also help adjust the way you deal with the fight. Whether it’s fierce casting spells, fun combos, rolling around as Dark Souls, fighting tactically, using spells and potions to the fullest advantage, Farmers type that using plants to help fight or stealth, focusing on stealth. The game clearly divides the usage spells into 7 types. Both used in combat and decorative purposes in the Room of Requirement. Unlocking spells to use is not complicated to that annoying and it will continue to unlock according to the story. Some spells can be obtained by completing Side Quests. The only disadvantage would be only 4 spells can be arranged per use set. To be able to unlock up to 16 more spell slots, allowing us to switch to using more skill sets. But it’s still a little annoying because you have to keep switching skill sets. Plus, sometimes having fun switching, scrolling to the wrong set, causing the combo to be inconsistent will makes it difficult to enjoy playing sometime.
Of course, being an RPG, there’s a leveling system and an outfit system involved. Which the game itself is made out well, not complicated Color grading with clear status and easy to understand. There is also a system to upgrade or add a special stat to fight against different types of enemies. or increase the strength of using magic spells as well. The Upgrade Materials can be found at the Bandit Camp or anywhere in the map and can be enhance at the Room of Requirement. Plus, the features of the fashion system are also brilliant that you can decorate as you like even if you sell the costume, don’t be afraid because it’s in Collections, you can choose to wear it as a skin as you wish!
A lot of Quests and Missions that can be played for a long time.
In Hogwarts Legacy, there are more than 100 quests for us to enjoy both main Story Quests and Side Quests. in which many additional quests which has a story as fun as the Main Story ever. Some side quests unlock features that It opens the way for us to dive into the secret charms of the wizarding world more than ever. Plus, it’s also fun, challenging, and receives a lot of prizes, such as Take The Biscuit, a short but heartwarming Quest, The Plight Of The House-Elf, an additional Quest, but it’s with a dramatic storyline. Poached Egg, an additional Quest that continues from the Main Quest, but a new way to play.
Some Side Quests also lead us to get knowing the partner characters from each house to expand the story even more, such as Sebastian from Slytherin taking us to learn about the Dark Arts, Poppy from Hufflepuff taking us to rescue magical creatures, Natty from Gryffindor takes us on a magical adventure, and Amit from Ravenclaw takes us on a nighttime exploration of the Star Map.
But if you are tired of doing Quests, there are other things, many more for us to do whether it’s chasing down Bandit Camp, both farm items and gold, looking for various magical animals for breeding. And who is a treasure box hunting type or 100% Complete-type, can say that this can be played for a long time. There is also a treasure hunt according to the Treasure Map hint, both reward items. and meet the Easter egg that is waiting for Harry Potter fans to meet too.
Unfortunately, some Side Quests have too many gameplay patterns, such as the Merlin Trial, with up to 95 points scattered across the map. But there are only a few puzzle solving techniques, Alohomora spell Quests that increase the spell level, but there is no new challenge at all. So when playing for a while, you will begin to feel that these quests I secretly have a slight boredom.
Beautiful graphics performance worth the price
Regarding the graphics of the game, it must be said that as beautiful as it cover which advertising by staffs entirety. Personally, we play on a laptop at Intel Core i7 Nvidia GTX 1050Ti 16 GB RAM Spec, which is considered a Medium Quality. from having some lag when loading the map due to rendering or slow loading during entering the game. But overall, it can play smoothly, not interrupt with the annoying experience. There are quite a lot of options to adjust the settings. In which the ultra-level Quality is recommended as NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, say that it is extremely beautiful. The more people use NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, which is a 4K Spec, it will be even more beautiful!
For anyone who wants to find a view to capture beautiful in-game images, you can choose to turn off the HUD to save the image. Unfortunately, there is no Photo Mode system to use, but the game supports Nvidia’s Photo Mode, so anyone who uses the Nvidia Graphic Card can use this section to capture beautiful images.
